Nature and Science

Walden’s nature program explores camp’s amazing natural environment, from the turtles and tadpoles in our lagoon to the stunning lake rocks and Walden’s virgin forest. The Farm itself houses chickens, rabbits, kittens and the occasional goat. The Nature Nook contains wealth of other creatures.

These classes venture outside of camp for cookouts and field trips such as an archeological outing to Fort Michilimackinac.

This summer, Walden adds astronomy, along with rocketry to its activity list. Where better to admire the stars than in a place where the only light interference is from the glorious Northern Lights themselves?!
