ACA Accreditation

ACA accredited camps undergo a stringent 300-point inspection
every three years to determine whether they continue to meet
the highest professional standards in the camping business.
The ACA also serves an important role in the ongoing education
of camp owners and directors. Camp Walden has been an ACA
accredited
camp since 1959.

Medical

Full-time doctor and nurse on staff; well-equipped infirmary. Cheboygan Memorial Hospital, a modern facility is nearby.

Housing

Spacious cabins include bunk beds, complete lavatories with hot water and shower facilities; depending on age, 8-12 campers per cabin, supervised by 2-3 live-in counselors. Smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in each cabin.

Food

Three meals and two snacks daily prepared by expert cooks in an up-to-date kitchen; served family and buffet style to accommodate individual appetites.

Transportation

Charter bus service is available from the Detroit and Cleveland (Beachwood, OH) metropolitan areas. If you wish, you may drive your child to camp. If you wish to fly your youngster to camp we will be happy to assist you in making these arrangements. Please check with us for details.
